A partir del 5 de Mayo, disponible al fin en plataformas digitales, el reclamado disco que Camilo Sesto realizó grabado íntegramente en inglés: “Camilo”.
El lanzamiento oficial fue el 8 de Noviembre de 1982 para Estados Unidos y Alemania por Arista Récords. La versión para España y Latinoamérica fue lanzada a mediados de 1983 por Ariola Eurodisc.
“Camilo” es un álbum producido por Harry Maslin (conocido por sus exitosos trabajos con Dionne Warwick, Eric Carmen, David Bowie, Air Supply, entre otros), también los arreglos fueron hechos en colaboración con Barry Fasman, y grabado en Allen Zentz Recording Studios & Cherokee Recording Studios. En este disco, Camilo Sesto presentó increíbles versiones de canciones compuestas por grandes figuras de la música anglosajona.
Él no quiso dejar pasar la oportunidad para realizar un homenaje a sus grandes ídolos: “The Beatles”, con su versión de “Here, There And Everywhere” de John Lennon y Paul McCartney. Además, incluyó “It’s The Way You Do It” de Barry Fasman y Steve Perry, “Boats Against The Current” de Eric Carmen, “There I Go Again” de John Lewis Parker y Brian Potter, también su propia composición “Who Better Than I” en colaboración con los mismos chicos, Parker y Potter.
En ese momento, pudimos ver a Camilo presentando nuevas canciones en televisión y en conciertos: “There I Go Again”, “Shoulder To Shoulder” y “Who Better Than I”.
“El nuevo álbum significa mucho para mí. Es como otro nacimiento musical. Un desafío, porque tengo que llegar a un público muy distinto al latino…”. “Estoy satisfecho porque es una cosa digna, hecha a una altura impresionante y eso ya es suficiente”. Expresaba Camilo a medios de prensa.

On May 5th, finally available on streaming, Camilo Sesto’s long awaited album recorded entirely in English: ‘Camilo’.
The official release was on November 8, 1982 for the United States and Germany by Arista Records. The version for Spain and Latin America was released in mid-1983 by Ariola Eurodisc.
“Camilo” is an album produced by Harry Maslin (known for his successful jobs with Dionne Warwick, Eric Carmen, David Bowie, Air Supply, among others), also the arrangements were made in collaboration with Barry Fasman, and recorded at Allen Zentz Recording Studios & Cherokee Recording Studios. In this album, Camilo Sesto presented incredible versions of songs composed by great figures of Anglo music.
He did not want to miss the opportunity to pay tribute to his great idols: “The Beatles”, with his version of “Here, There And Everywhere” by John Lennon and Paul McCartney.
